Friday’s Videos

Here is this weeks selections right out of my head

First up is an amazing story about the quickly becoming lost art of painting advertising on buildings

UP THERE from The Ritual Project on Vimeo.

Next up is amazingly talented boy singing and playing piano to Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” Thanks to nikao.com for the heads up. I have to agree with Vince that I was not familiar with the original but felt like i needed to take a shower after watching her version. I love the looks of the girls behind him. I saw him on “Ellen” yesterday while I was on the treadmill.

The next one came from my dad who never sends me anything like this. I love the look in the little boys eyes every time he sees his parents

Next up is the creative and slightly twisted brain of Lanny Donaho from the “Orange Conference” this year. He is my favorite Emcee!

And the bonus video this week comes from John Mark McMillen the author of “How He Loves”. He is sharing his heart and a little of the back story behind the song

How He Loves : A Song Story from john mark mcmillan on Vimeo.

If you enjoy hearing the heart and thinking behind the songs that you hear the worship leaders at First Methodist Mansfield, then join us tonight at 7:00 pm in our Chapel for “The Songs We’re Singing”. A concert lead by 5 of our worship leaders with conversations between the songs lead by our Teaching Pastor David Alexander. It is a evening that you do not want to miss!

Next is a video done to one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite folk groups. BRAVO!

And another from Trout Fishing in America that I used to sing to Cooper when he was a baby. Brings back such wonderful memories. It is truly hard to believe that he will be 10 this summer!

And finally the 2009 highlights from the Catalyst Conference (www.catalystconference.com) at the conference in 2001 I beleive that God breathed into me my leadership direction to work for The Church. That time has resonated in me ever since. Thank you John Maxwell and Catalyst for the last 9 years.

Enviromental Projection in “The Well”

Here are some images that we used this weekend in “The Well” to make the last of the “24 Hours That Changed The World” really hit home.

We will be using Environmental Projection in our Sanctuary this Holy Weekend in 4 of our 6 services in our Sanctuary this weekend. If you are coming why don’t you invite a friend to me moved in a whole new way?

What images from Holy Week really move or affect you?

I saw this clip on www.stuffchristianslike.net and thought that it was funny enough to share here.

I am thinking about starting a Friday feature showing clips that moved me, inspired me, made me laugh or made me go…How do I do that in church.   Thoughts???  Would that make you come here every Friday to see that?

Here is a clip from our Childrens Ministry that is crazy creative talking about our Childrens Check-In system

We are in the final preparation plans for Easter next weekend. We will offer to our church family 9 services over 4 days next week

April 1 – Holy Thursday – 7pm – Sanctuary
This will be a traditional worship service with choir, bells and orchestra. We will celebrate Holy  Communion during this  service.

April 2 – Good Friday – 7pm – Sanctuary
This is a large production planned by our Traditional worship leader Dr. Scott Ferrell depicting  the last day of Christ life. This larger than life production will amaze you and draw you closer to  your church family and our Christ. There are a few visual surprises planned that YOU DO NOT WANT  TO MISS. Believe me!

Saturday April 3 – Saturday night worship – Sanctuary
This contemporary service will be lead by a group of our worship leaders from Saturday night  and our 9:30 Contemporary service. We went through our tech rehearsal for that service last  night and I am in awe of the vision that the worship leaders have come up for that service. Again we will have a few visual surprises that you will be talking about for months to come. Our Teaching  Pastor David Alexander will be bringing Gods message to us during this service. If you want to  celebrate the joy of the resurrection of Christ a little early and beat the crowd, this will be the  service for you.

Sunday April 4 – Easter Sunday

Join Pastor Mike and Dr Scott Ferrell as they lead this dawn breaking service outdoors at Town Park (500  North Main street)

“The Well” offers contemporary worship in our recently remodeled Chapel where we use environmental   projection to enhance worship. This service is lead by Doug Peak as the worship leader and our Teaching  Pastor David Alexander will lead the sermon. This is a truly unique place to experience Gods abundant grace and Easter will be no exception. This service started on October 25th 2009 and is already experience room  capacity (227) attendance. As a result to this tremendous response we will be offering a “Special” service at  12:30 that will be identical to the 11:00 service except you get to go and have Easter Brunch before church  instead of afterward
